Quickie Poster for "a really big shew"

It has been a year to the day since I left Kayrock Inc. and it was great to be ask to emergency design a flyer the Vampire Blues Records Record release. The show will be well worth attending and you can pick up a copy of Bury the Kings by Chris Lee. The cover was designed around a picture that I took in the time that I have spent exploring and creating as an Artiste again. The picture on the cover is of a mural that can be found on the outside of Gostilna at Knezak. The logo for the Vampire Blues is a tracing of all the developed photographs of the mural for the Chris Lee album art by me. It is, of course, a nod to Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division. The J.D.U.K.layout was done by Peter Saville and the source material was a printout of the flashes produced by the CP1919 pulsar. Thanks to Chris & Steve for trusting my meandering design sensibilities.

The bounty of production
The Dream On Kids design
The mobile silkscreen press, Shirley T, spent the last week with the Dream On Kids Summer program at the Shore Cultural Center. The children created drawings that where made into silkscreens and printed by themselves. Many things were learned during the session even some very specific instructions for ghost removal provided to me for my personal safety. I have to thank Darryl for that information before his retirement from ghost busting.
This project was done in conjunction with the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture grant that will result in a fully functioning exposure unit for silk screen, Rose Louise, and serigraph printing press for shirts and paper, Shirley T, which will be housed at ArtsCollinwood for community use.

Waterloo Arts Fest Press Tent

Paper press setup printing "maps" for the fest.

T-shirt setup demonstrated with shirt platen
Everything packs up neatly
The Waterloo Arts Fest on June 30th was the premiere of the mobile printing press affectionately named Shirley T. The Press is equipped to print paper and t-shirts depending on which side you choose to screw the hinges into. This model is made with up cycled materials and even the washout tub was discovered abandoned in a park. The device will be joined by a companion device for coating and exposing the screens named Rose Louise. The fest was fun and many maps and a few t-shirts were printed throughout the day. This event and device are funded through the Artist in Residence grant through The Community Partnership for Arts And Culture.
